Punk Jazz? This album represents an attempt on the part of Madison Red and The Band That Time Forgot to bring the energy and small group dynamics of "punk" to a set of songs from the stylish film noir movies of the 1940s and 1950s without sacrificing the songs' harmonic sophistication. The contents of this album were basically recorded live in a process that favored swing and spontaneity over precision (no click tracks, add/replacement, or pitch correction here).
